We have an OCEANFRONT condo located right on a beautiful sandy beach. Our condo is on the 5th floor of a 7 story building. It has a lovely view of the island of Lanai, turquoise waters and our wonderful whales ( in winter ). It is located on the leeward side (sunset) of Maui. It is a 22 mile, 45 minute drive from the Kahului Airport. If you are
coming to Maui from another island, the West Maui Airport, a limited service
airport can be used. This airport is only 8 miles from the LS 525 condo.
If you wish to see all the sights of Maui, all standard car rental companies
are represented at or near the airports. If you prefer not to rent a car,
there is a taxi service to Lahaina with an approximate charge of $35 the
last time I checked. Without a car and if you plan to just relax in the
Lahaina area, you have following;
If you are renting a car at the Kahului Airport, take the Highway #38 cut-off for a scenic drive around the West Maui Mountains to Lahaina. You may wish to stop at the scenic lookout and hopefully spot a pod of whales. Proceed to Lahaina and when you come to the FIRST stop light, turn LEFT: SHAW STREET. Drive to the end of the street and on your left, you will see Lahaina Shores. The building is 7 stories high with white pillars and a large American Flag. Now you will know you are "home". Register as guests of the Evans, condo #525 and, you will be given a room key. You will then be told of your parking options. The front desk will ask for a credit card imprint to cover phone calls. Local calls are .75 cents per call or, there is a public phone in the lobby, if you prefer. Parking is $3.55 plus tax per day if you wish to use the parking facilities. The phone number to Lahaina Shores is [808] 661-4835, extension 525. You should find everything in good order in the condo. If not, please call us at: [707] 252-0390. All calls to this number will be reimbursed. At the end of your vacation, please remember to return your key and parking card. There is a $25.00 charge for lost room keys and, there is a $25.00 charge for a lost parking permit. Room 525 is a deluxe studio, custom furnished in a tropical theme with a king sized bed. A rollaway can be rented, arranged by the owner 707 252 0390. Included are a complete kitchen [with dishwasher], remote TV, [VCR, DVD players in TV], binoculars [to see the whales], hair dryer, table, chairs and large closet. All the towels, including 2 beach towels, bedding are in the condo as well as an ironing board and iron, vacuum cleaner, broom and mop. There is a lanai [balcony] with a table and chairs for your relaxing and eating pleasure. The view and beautiful sunsets are yours to enjoy. In case the ocean breezes slack off, the condo has central air-conditioning. The air-conditioner turns off when the lanai door is open. On each floor of Lahaina Shores there is a coin operated laundry. We find that the water is 'soft' on Maui: caution, easy on the soap! Since this a privately-owned condo, your rent does not include daily maid service or front desk towel service. Maid service is available, should you wish, at an additional charge made in advance. The condo will be clean when you arrive and, we will provide maid service when you depart. Because of your reduced rate, we ask that you leave the unit as clean as possible. Since our maid service sometimes might not get to the condo for a few days after your departure please empty the trash and hang up wet towels. There are trash containers provided in the laundry room. Check-in time is after 3pm. Check-out time is 11am unless previous arrangements have been made in advance. Next door to the condo is a charming little shopping center with restaurants, shops and a convenience store. One of the finest Hawaiian shows is located right on the beach a few feet away. You are a short walk to the Lahaina Boat Harbor where you can partake in all the water sports, deep sea fishing, submarine rides, etc. The historic town of Lahaina offers a magic all her own, bordered on one side by the ocean and the other side by majestic mountains. There are many wonderful places to eat and to do all the shopping you have in mind to do…plus more. Maui is the golf center of Hawaii with over 15 championship courses. There are 2 just five minutes away, at Kaanapali. Within walking distance, we have a triple movie theater, many art galleries and, of course, many T shirt shops. Bicycles, surf boards and snorkeling gear can all be rented in Lahaina. And, if you wish to do none of the above, Lahaina Shores has a beautiful pool and heated Jacuzzi to help you relax and enjoy Maui. And, of course just a few steps away are the beach and ocean for more swimming, snorkeling and playing. We sincerely hope your stay is very enjoyable and that you will wish
